"A person who would not otherwise ask God for help may find it easy to do so if he or she falls on hard times. It's easier to humble oneself before God when we're in pain or misery. The more exalted state, however, is to be in communication with God every day, no matter what the circumstances.

"Depending on how sure we are of ourselves, we have varying degrees of success in finding our way. But if we are in communication with God, the assistance we receive gives us a tremendous advantage. He is available to help us with any effort, plan or project. The person who is guided in daily life is able to accomplish wondrous things.

"The efficacy of the guidance depends on how well we listen to the God within. Details are never a problem, nor is the size or scope of an effort or plan. God helps in the tiniest details as well as in the grand scheme of our lives and everything in between.

"The are myriad paths to an ongoing conversation with God, or even an ongoing partnership. But they all end up in the same sacred meeting place – a place of inner silence and receptivity. In this place, we can pose our questions to Him and ask for help. He will answer. Sometimes the answer comes as an insight or realization, sometimes as an intuitive knowing, sometimes as an image, or sometimes as words or thoughts in the mind's eye which are distinct from our own. Sometimes the answers to our requests come as opportunities or events, such as people with answers to our dilemmas or questions, books on a shelf drawing our attention, friends bringing the very item or assistance we need, or perhaps a job opportunity that gives us a chance to experience or learn what we need to experience or learn.

"How can we know if the words, images or intuition we receive are from God, and not just our imagination or wishful thinking? If our mind has been sufficiently quieted we can tell the difference, we can discern. It isn't always easy to quiet the mind. Our imagination is forever inventing stories and scenarios. The ego always tries to run the show. Emotions and desires distort our thoughts. Inner silence requires practice. Be patient. Sit and just watch your thoughts and impressions go by, like so many passing clouds, without getting involved in them. Eventually, emotions and mental chatter will fade away and your mind will become quiet. That is the time for asking your question or asking for help.

"The Creator is always available for a conversation. He is aware of every detail of each person's existence. Surprising though it may seem, He is available to answer any concern or question, no matter how large or small or how personal. Amen"
